To be more precise, I have been blogging here more deliberately again since September 3, 2019. As of July 6, 2026, that adds up to 2,498 days. Not loudly, not especially regularly, but whenever there was something worth capturing. That is still what I like about having a weblog of my own: it is a good place for things that would otherwise disappear somewhere between projects, tabs, and notes.
The site itself has also received a new theme in the meantime. Clearer, more compact, and more reduced than before, with a calm one-page front page, precise color accents, and a blog that is once again more central. Less ballast, more focus on content.
When I look through the archive, a fairly clear mix has emerged. There are technical posts such as Azure IoT Hub REST API testing with Postman, First learnings from Home Assistant home automation, or Yamaha & Airplay & Zyxel 419N. Then there are more practical topics such as Website Relaunch schwarzgupfberglauf.at and older notes about this site itself and the technology behind it.
But it was never only about technology. Posts such as Photostream re-activated or New Images in my Flickr Photo Stream show another side of it: images, observations, interests, things outside the immediate work context. With Underrated Rock Albums: Therapy? – Infernal Love, a more personal tone has now returned as well.
That is exactly the direction I want to continue in. Still with technical topics, with thoughts on digital work, architecture, and practical solutions. But also with personal notes, music, everyday observations, and things that occupy me outside of work.
From now on, I will be sharing more thoughts here again. Short, direct, and without too many detours.
